Overview
The impacts of COVID-19 on engineering asset management have been both varied and severe. The pandemic has caused equipment shortages, supply chain disruption, and of course myriad personnel challenges. Businesses have been forced to adapt their operating procedures and policies, motivated both by unusual circumstances and the particulars of relevant legislation.
This seminar will investigate how engineers can prepare for unforeseen circumstances and maintain their ability to operate throughout. This includes identifying business critical requirements to operate, understanding how each of these may be affected by unusual circumstances, and developing contingency plans to mitigate these. The agenda will also consider how these plans are implemented and ingrained within an organisation to ensure a comprehensive level of preparedness and continuity.
The programme will feature a series of presentations from senior engineers and asset managers with experience of adapting to unusual events. These will include examples from the ongoing pandemic, as well as other relevant case studies. These will focus on lessons learned, instructing engineers on how to maintain and improve organisational readiness. Those attending will gain a better understanding of how to build resilience into existing processes, as well as learning about new techniques and strategies to limit disruption. Delegates will also have the chance to connect with industry experts with first-hand experience of dealing with critical circumstances via facilitated roundtable discussions and plentiful networking opportunities.
